  1. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

  2. But if that evil servant should say in his heart, ‘My lord is delaying his coming,’

  3. and begins to beat his fellow servants, and eat and drink with the drunkards,

  4. the lord of that servant will come in a day when he doesn’t expect it, and in an hour when he doesn’t know it,

  5. and will cut him in pieces, and appoint his portion with the hypocrites. There is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.

  12. the oath which he spoke to Abraham, our father,

  13. He spoke this parable. “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it, and found none.

  14. He said to the vine dresser, ‘Behold, these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down. Why does it waste the soil?’

  15. He answered, ‘Lord, leave it alone this year also, until I dig around it, and fertilize it.

  16. If it bears fruit, fine; but if not, after that, you can cut it down.’”

  17. “Which of you men, if you had one hundred sheep, and lost one of them, wouldn’t leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one that was lost, until he found it?

  18. When he has found it, he carries it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

  19. When he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’

  20. I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance.

  21. He said, “A certain man had two sons.

  22. The younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of your property.’ He divided his livelihood between them.

  23. Not many days after, the younger son gathered all of this together and traveled into a far country. There he wasted his property with riotous living.

  24. When he had spent all of it, there arose a severe famine in that country, and he began to be in need.

  25. He went and joined himself to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed pigs.
