Ur

Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his birth, in Ur-Kasdim.

Terah took Abram his son, Lot the son of Haran, his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram’s wife. They went from Ur-Kasdim, to go into the land of Canaan. They came to Haran and lived there.

He said to him, “I am the LORD who brought you out of Ur-Kasdim, to give you this land to inherit it.”

You are the LORD, the God who chose Abram, and brought him out of Ur-Kasdim, and gave him the name of Abraham,
