  1. LORD, bow down thine ear, and hear: open, LORD, thine eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent him to reproach the living God.

  10. ¶ There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

  12. Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death:

  13. ¶ Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?

  14. ¶ Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

  15. From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.

  16. The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.

  17. Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.

  18. Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.

  19. LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.

  20. Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish.

  21. Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand.

  22. Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.

  23. O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go hence, and be no more.
