And when he cometh home, he calleth together [his] friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
And when she hath found [it], she calleth [her] friends and [her] neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.

Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
¶ He that oppresseth the poor to increase his [riches, and] he that giveth to the rich, [shall] surely [come] to want.
¶ The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich [hath] many friends.
Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
¶ Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

¶ Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
