  1. For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheepe of his hande: to day, if ye will heare his voyce,

  2. Harden not your heart, as in Meribah, and as in the day of Massah in the wildernesse.

  3. And he remembred his couenant towarde them and repented according to the multitude of his mercies,

  4. The Lord sware and wil not repent, Thou art a Priest for euer after ye order of Melchi-zedek.

  5. For the Lord will iudge his people, and be pacified towardes his seruants.

  9. Because I haue called, and ye refused: I haue stretched out mine hand, and none woulde regarde.

  10. But ye haue despised all my counsell, and would none of my correction.

  11. I will also laugh at your destruction, and mocke, when your feare commeth.

  12. Whe your feare cometh like sudden desolation, and your destruction shall come like a whirle wind: whe affliction and anguish shall come vpon you,

  13. Then shall they call vpon me, but I will not answere: they shall seeke me early, but they shall not finde me,

  14. Because they hated knowledge, and did not chuse the feare of the Lord.

  15. They would none of my counsell, but despised all my correction.

  16. Therefore shall they eate of ye fruite of their owne way, and be filled with their owne deuises.

  17. For ease slaieth the foolish, and the prosperitie of fooles destroyeth them.

  18. But he that obeyeth me, shall dwell safely, and be quiet from feare of euill.

  19. Forsake your way, ye foolish, and ye shall liue: and walke in the way of vnderstanding.

  20. Boast not thy selfe of to morowe: for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

  21. He that hideth his sinnes, shall not prosper: but he that confesseth, and forsaketh them, shall haue mercy.

  22. Wash you, make you cleane: take away the euill of your workes from before mine eyes: cease to doe euill.

  23. Learne to doe well: seeke iudgement, relieue the oppressed: iudge the fatherlesse and defend the widowe.

  24. The remnant shall returne, euen the remnant of Iaakob vnto the mightie God.

  25. And in that day did the Lord God of hosts call vnto weeping and mourning, and to baldnes and girding with sackecloth.
