  1. But of them that chewe the cud, or deuide the hoofe onely, of them yee shall not eate: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, and deuideth not ye hoofe, he shall be vncleane vnto you.

  2. Likewise the conie, because he cheweth the cud and deuideth not the hoofe, he shall bee vncleane to you.

  8. And Balaam saide vnto the asse, Because thou hast mocked me: I woulde there were a sworde in mine hand, for nowe would I kill thee.

  9. And the asse saide vnto Balaam, Am not I thine asse, which thou hast ridden vpon since thy first time vnto this day? haue I vsed at any time to doe thus vnto thee? Who said, Nay.

  10. And the Lord opened the eyes of Balaam, and he sawe the Angel of the Lord standing in the way with his sword drawen in his hande: then he bowed him selfe, and fell flat on his face.

  11. And the Angel of the Lord said vnto him, Wherefore hast thou nowe smitten thine asse three times? beholde, I came out to withstande thee, because thy way is not straight before me.

  12. Canst thou nomber the moneths that they fulfill? or knowest thou the time when they bring foorth?

  13. They bow them selues: they bruise their yong and cast out their sorowes.

  14. Yet their yong waxe fatte, and growe vp with corne: they goe foorth and returne not vnto them.

  15. Who hath set the wilde asse at libertie? or who hath loosed the bondes of the wilde asse?

  16. He sheweth himselfe cruell vnto his yong ones, as they were not his, and is without feare, as if he trauailed in vaine.

  17. For God had depriued him of wisedom, and hath giuen him no part of vnderstanding.

  18. When time is, he mounteth on hie: he mocketh the horse and his rider.

  19. Hast thou giuen the horse strength? or couered his necke with neying?

  20. Hast thou made him afraid as the grashopper? his strong neying is fearefull.

  21. He diggeth in the valley, and reioyceth in his strength: he goeth foorth to meete the harnest man.

  22. He mocketh at feare, and is not afraid, and turneth not backe from the sworde,

  23. But man shall not continue in honour: he is like the beastes that die.

  24. This their way vttereth their foolishnes: yet their posteritie delite in their talke. Selah.

  25. Like sheepe they lie in graue: death deuoureth them, and the righteous shall haue domination ouer them in the morning: for their beautie shall consume, when they shall goe from their house to graue.
