  1. Then spake Ioshua to the Lord, in the day when the Lord gaue the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he sayd in the sight of Israel, Sunne, stay thou in Gibeon, and thou moone, in the valley of Aialon.

  2. And the Sunne abode, and the moone stood still, vntill the people auenged themselues vpon their enemies: (Is not this written in the booke of Iasher?) so the Sunne abode in the middes of the heauen, and hasted not to goe downe for a whole day.

  3. And there was no day like that before it, nor after it, that the Lord heard the voyce of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel.

  4. Hee remooueth the earth out of her place, that the pillars thereof doe shake.

  5. He commandeth the sunne, and it riseth not: hee closeth vp the starres, as vnder a signet.

  6. Hee himselfe alone spreadeth out the heauens, and walketh vpon the height of the sea.

  7. He maketh the starres Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the climates of the South.

  8. And when I shall put thee out, I will couer the heauen, and make the starres thereof darke: I will couer the sunne with a cloude, and the moone shall not giue her light.

  9. All the lightes of heauen will I make darke for thee, and bring darkenesse vpon thy lande, sayeth the Lord God.

  10. Moreouer in those dayes, after that tribulation, the sunne shall waxe darke, and ye moone shall not giue her light,

  11. And the starres of heauen shall fall: and the powers which are in heauen, shall shake.

  12. And it was about the sixt houre: and there was a darkenes ouer all the land, vntill the ninth houre.

  13. And the Sunne was darkened, and the vaile of the Temple rent through the middes.

  14. And I wil shew wonders in heauen aboue, and tokens in the earth beneath, blood, and fire, and the vapour of smoke.

  15. The Sunne shalbe turned into darkenesse, and the moone into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come.

  16. And I behelde when hee had opened the sixt seale, and loe, there was a great earthquake, and the sunne was as blacke as sackecloth of heare, and the moone was like blood.

  17. And the starres of heauen fell vnto the earth, as a figge tree casteth her greene figges when it is shaken of a mightie winde.

  18. And heauen departed away, as a scroule, when it is rolled, and euery mountaine and yle were mooued out of their places.

  19. Then the thirde Angel blew the trumpet, and there fell a great starre from heauen, burning like a torche, and it fell into the thirde part of the riuers, and into the fountaines of waters.

  20. And the name of the starre is called wormewood: therefore the thirde part of the waters became wormewood, and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

  21. And the fourth Angel blew the trumpet, and the thirde part of the sunne was smitten, and the thirde part of the moone, and the thirde part of the starres, so that the thirde part of them was darkened: and the day was smitten, that the thirde part of it could not shine, and likewise the night.

  22. And the fifth Angel blew the trumpet, and I saw a starre fall from heauen vnto the earth, and to him was giuen the key of the bottomlesse pit.

  23. And he opened the bottomlesse pit, and there arose the smoke of the pit, as the smoke of a great fornace, and the sunne, and the ayre were darkened by the smoke of the pit.

  24. And I sawe another mightie Angel come downe from heauen, clothed with a cloude, and the raine bowe vpon his head, and his face was as the sunne, and his feete as pillars of fire.

  25. And hee had in his hande a little booke open, and he put his right foote vpon the sea, and his left on the earth,
