  1. ¶ Salvation is far from the wicked: for they seek not thy statutes.

  14. That thou mayst be delivered from the strange woman, and from the stranger, who softeneth her words;

  15. And forsaketh the guide of her youth,

  16. And hath forgotten the covenant of her God: for her house inclineth unto death, and her paths to hell.

  17. None that go in unto her, shall return again, neither shall they take hold of the paths of life.

  18. For they sleep not, except they have done evil: and their sleep is taken away unless they have made some to fall.

  19. A man that is an apostate, an unprofitable man, walketh with a perverse mouth,

  20. He winketh with the eyes, presseth with the foot, speaketh with the finger.

  21. With a wicked heart he deviseth evil, and at all times he soweth discord.

  22. To such a one his destruction shall presently come, and he shall suddenly be destroyed, and shall no longer have any remedy.

  23. The blessing of the Lord is upon the head of the just: but iniquity covereth the mouth of the wicked.

  24. He that walketh sincerely, walketh confidently: but he that perverteth his ways, shall be manifest.

  25. The lips of the just teach many: but they that are ignorant, shall die in the want of understanding.
