  13. And when the men rose up from thence, they turned their eyes towards Sodom: and Abraham walked with them, bringing them on the way.

  14. And the Lord said: The cry of Sodom and Gomorrha is multiplied, and their sin is become exceedingly grievous.

  15. And they turned themselves from thence, and went their way to Sodom: but Abraham as yet stood before the Lord.

  16. And the Lord said to him: If I find in Sodom fifty just within the city, I will spare the whole place for their sake.

  17. And the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of the city. And seeing them, he rose up and went to meet them: and worshipped prostrate to the ground.

  18. But before they went to bed, the men of the city beset the house, both young and old, all the people together.

  19. And the Lord rained upon Sodom and Gomorrha brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven.

  20. He looked towards Sodom and Gomorrha, and the whole land of that country: and he saw the ashes rise up from the earth as the smoke of a furnace.

  21. Burning it with brimstone, and the heat of salt, so that it cannot be sown any more, nor any green thing grow therein, after the example of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrha, Adama and Seboim, which the Lord destroyed in his wrath and indignation:

  22. Their vines are of the vineyard of Sodom, and of the suburbs of Gomorrha: their grapes are grapes of gall, and their clusters most bitter.

  23. Except the Lord of hosts had left us seed, we had been as Sodom, and we should have been like to Gomorrha.

  24. Hear the word of the Lord, ye rulers of Sodom, give ear to the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrha.

  25. The shew of their countenance hath answered them: and they have proclaimed abroad their sin as Sodom, and they have not hid it: woe to their souls, for evils are rendered to them.
