  1. Now to him that is able to establish you, according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which was kept secret from eternity;

  2. (Which now is made manifest by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the precept of the eternal God, for the obedience of faith) known among all nations:

  3. But unto them that are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ, the power of God and the wisdom of God.

  4. For the foolishness of God is wiser than men: and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

  5. And my speech and my preaching was not in the persuasive words of human wisdom. but in shewing of the Spirit and power:

  6. That your faith might not stand on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God.

  7. Howbeit we speak wisdom among the perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, neither of the princes of this world that come to nought.

  8. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, a wisdom which is hidden, which God ordained before the world, unto our glory:

  9. For if I preach the gospel, it is no glory to me: for a necessity lieth upon me. For woe is unto me if I preach not the gospel.

  10. For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation is committed to me.

  11. What is my reward then? That preaching the gospel, I may deliver the gospel without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.

  12. Now I make known unto you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you have received and wherein you stand.

  13. By which also you are saved, if you hold fast after what manner I preached unto you, unless you have believed in vain.

  14. Who also hath made us fit ministers of the new testament, not in the letter but in the spirit. For the letter killeth: but the spirit quickeneth.

  15. Now if the ministration of death, engraven with letters upon stones, was glorious (so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses, for the glory of his countenance), which is made void:

  16. How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather in glory?

  17. For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more the ministration of justice aboundeth in glory.

  18. For even that which was glorious in this part was not glorified by reason of the glory that excelleth.

  19. For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is in glory.

  20. And if our gospel be also hid, it is hid to them that are lost,

  21. In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of unbelievers, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine unto them.

  22. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty to God, unto the pulling down of fortifications, destroying counsels,

  23. And every height that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God: and bringing into captivity every understanding unto the obedience of Christ:

  24. In whom you also, after you had heard the word of truth (the gospel of your salvation), in whom also believing, you were signed with the holy Spirit of promise.

  25. Who is the pledge of our inheritance, unto the redemption of acquisition, unto the praise of his glory.
