  13. Look at the heavens and see; observe the skies, high above you.

  14. If you sin, how do you hurt him? If your crimes are many, how do you affect him?

  15. If you are righteous, what do you give him? What benefit does he get from you?

  16. Your wickedness can affect only others like you, and your righteousness only other human beings.

  17. "Have you ever in your life called up the dawn and made the morning know its place,

  18. so that it could take hold of the edges of the earth and shake the wicked out of it?

  19. When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and stars that you set in place -

  20. what are mere mortals, that you concern yourself with them; humans, that you watch over them with such care?

  21. ADONAI, what are mere mortals, that you notice them at all; humans, that you think about them?

  22. Man is like a puff of wind, his days like a fleeting shadow.
