  1. and if I go on and prepare for you a place, again do I come, and will receive you unto myself, that where I am ye also may be;

  2. And these things having said--they beholding--he was taken up, and a cloud did receive him up from their sight;

  3. and as they were looking stedfastly to the heaven in his going on, then, lo, two men stood by them in white apparel,

  4. who also said, `Men, Galileans, why do ye stand gazing into the heaven? this Jesus who was received up from you into the heaven, shall so come in what manner ye saw him going on to the heaven.'

  5. reform ye, therefore, and turn back, for your sins being blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

  6. and He may send Jesus Christ who before hath been preached to you,

  7. whom it behoveth heaven, indeed, to receive till times of a restitution of all things, of which God spake through the mouth of all His holy prophets from the age.

  8. knowing that Christ, having been raised up out of the dead, doth no more die, death over him hath no more lordship;

  9. for in that he died, to the sin he died once, and in that he liveth, he liveth to God;

  10. that also the creation itself shall be set free from the servitude of the corruption to the liberty of the glory of the children of God;

  11. the night did advance, and the day came nigh; let us lay aside, therefore, the works of the darkness, and let us put on the armour of the light;

  12. so that ye are not behind in any gift, waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,

  13. who also shall confirm you unto the end--unblamable in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ;

  14. so, then, nothing before the time judge ye, till the Lord may come, who will both bring to light the hidden things of the darkness, and will manifest the counsels of the hearts, and then the praise shall come to each from God.

  15. for it behoveth him to reign till he may have put all the enemies under his feet--

  16. the last enemy is done away--death;

  17. having been confident of this very thing, that He who did begin in you a good work, will perform it till a day of Jesus Christ,

  18. For our citizenship is in the heavens, whence also a Saviour we await--the Lord Jesus Christ--

  19. who shall transform the body of our humiliation to its becoming conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working of his power, even to subject to himself the all things.

  20. let your forbearance be known to all men; the Lord is near;

  21. when the Christ--our life--may be manifested, then also we with him shall be manifested in glory.

  22. and to wait for His Son from the heavens, whom He did raise out of the dead--Jesus, who is rescuing us from the anger that is coming.

  23. to the establishing your hearts blameless in sanctification before our God and Father, in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.

  24. because the Lord himself, in a shout, in the voice of a chief-messenger, and in the trump of God, shall come down from heaven, and the dead in Christ shall rise first,

  25. then we who are living, who are remaining over, together with them shall be caught away in clouds to meet the Lord in air, and so always with the Lord we shall be;
