  1. `And that servant having come, told to his lord these things, then the master of the house, having been angry, said to his servant, Go forth quickly to the broad places and lanes of the city, and the poor, and maimed, and lame, and blind, bring in hither.

  2. `And the servant said, Sir, it hath been done as thou didst command, and still there is room.

  3. `And the lord said unto the servant, Go forth to the ways and hedges, and constrain to come in, that my house may be filled;

  4. for I say to you, that none of those men who have been called shall taste of my supper.'

  8. And he said, `All these I did keep from my youth;'

  9. and having heard these things, Jesus said to him, `Yet one thing to thee is lacking; all things--as many as thou hast--sell, and distribute to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven, and come, be following me;'

  10. and he, having heard these things, became very sorrowful, for he was exceeding rich.

  11. And Jesus having seen him become very sorrowful, said, `How hardly shall those having riches enter into the reign of God!

  12. and he said to them, `Verily I say to you, that there is not one who left house, or parents, or brothers, or wife, or children, for the sake of the reign of God,

  13. who may not receive back manifold more in this time, and in the coming age, life age-during.'

  14. And having taken the twelve aside, he said unto them, `Lo, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things shall be completed--that have been written through the prophets--to the Son of Man,

  15. for he shall be delivered up to the nations, and shall be mocked, and insulted, and spit upon,

  16. and having scourged they shall put him to death, and on the third day he shall rise again.'

  17. And he began to speak unto the people this simile: `A certain man planted a vineyard, and gave it out to husbandmen, and went abroad for a long time,

  18. and at the season he sent unto the husbandmen a servant, that from the fruit of the vineyard they may give to him, but the husbandmen having beat him, did send him away empty.

  19. `And he added to send another servant, and they that one also having beaten and dishonoured, did send away empty;

  20. and he added to send a third, and this one also, having wounded, they did cast out.

  21. `And the owner of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my son--the beloved, perhaps having seen this one, they will do reverence;

  22. and having seen him, the husbandmen reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir; come, we may kill him, that the inheritance may become ours;

  23. and having cast him outside of the vineyard, they killed him ; what, then, shall the owner of the vineyard do to them?

  24. He will come, and destroy these husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others.' And having heard, they said, `Let it not be!'

  25. and he, having looked upon them, said, `What, then, is this that hath been written: A stone that the builders rejected--this became head of a corner?
