  1. The man of God said to the king, “Even if you gave me half of your house, I would not go in with you, neither would I eat bread nor drink water in this place;

  2. for so was it commanded me by the LORD’s word, saying, ‘You shall eat no bread, nor drink water, neither return by the way that you came.’”

  18. rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, even as you were taught, abounding in it in thanksgiving.

  19. But you, man of God, flee these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness.

  20. Fight the good fight of faith. Lay hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you confessed the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.

  21. I command you before God, who gives life to all things, and before Messiah Yeshua, who before Pontius Pilate testified the good confession,

  22. that you keep the commandment without spot, blameless, until the appearing of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah;

  23. Hold the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which is in Messiah Yeshua.

  24. That good thing which was committed to you, guard through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.

  25. but Messiah is faithful as a Son over his house; whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the glorying of our hope firm to the end.
