  1. When the angel stretched out his hand toward Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD relented of the disaster, and said to the angel who destroyed the people, “It is enough. Now stay your hand.” the LORD’s angel was by the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.

  8. David lifted up his eyes, and saw the LORD’s angel standing between earth and the sky, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell on their faces.

  13. How much more, those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed before the moth!

  14. Let them be as chaff before the wind, The LORD’s angel driving them on.

  15. Let their way be dark and slippery, The LORD’s angel pursuing them.

  16. For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways.

  17. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone.

  18. Praise the LORD, you angels of his, who are mighty in strength, who fulfill his word, obeying the voice of his word.

  19. Praise the LORD, all you armies of his, you servants of his, who do his pleasure.

  20. Then I said, “Woe is me! For I am undone, because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of Hosts!”

  21. Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar.

  22. He touched my mouth with it, and said, “Behold, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away, and your sin forgiven.”

  23. I looked, and behold, a stormy wind came out of the north, a great cloud, with flashing lightning, and a brightness around it, and out of its midst as it were glowing metal, out of the midst of the fire.

  24. Out of its midst came the likeness of four living creatures. This was their appearance: they had the likeness of a man.

  25. Everyone had four faces, and each one of them had four wings.
