  1. Our fathers haue sinned, and are not, and we haue borne their iniquities.

  2. Beholde, all that vse prouerbes, shall vse this prouerbe against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.

  8. He that loueth father or mother more then me, is not worthie of me. And he that loueth sonne, or daughter more then mee, is not worthie of me.

  9. Then were brought to him litle children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.

  10. But Iesus sayd, Suffer the litle children, and forbid them not to come to me: for of such is the kingdome of heauen.

  11. And besought him instantly, saying, My litle daughter lyeth at point of death: I pray thee that thou wouldest come and lay thine hands on her, that she may be healed, and liue.

  12. So she went forth, and said to her mother, What shall I aske? And she said, Iohn Baptists head.

  13. If a sonne shall aske bread of any of you that is a father, will he giue him a stone? or if hee aske a fish, will he for a fish giue him a serpent?

  14. Or if hee aske an egge, will hee giue him a scorpion?

  15. If yee then which are euill, can giue good giftes vnto your children, howe much more shall your heauenly Father giue the holy Ghost to them, that desire him?

  16. And Iesus came againe into Cana a towne of Galile, where he had made of water, wine. And there was a certaine ruler, whose sonne was sicke at Capernaum.

  17. The ruler said vnto him, Syr, goe downe before my sonne dye.

  18. Behold, the thirde time I am ready to come vnto you, and yet will I not be slouthfull to your hinderance: for I seeke not yours, but you: for the children ought not to laye vp for the fathers, but the fathers for the children.

  19. And ye, fathers, prouoke not your children to wrath: but bring them vp in instruction and information of the Lord.

  20. Fathers, prouoke not your children to anger, least they be discouraged.

  21. As ye knowe how that we exhorted you, and comforted, and besought euery one of you (as a father his children)

  22. One that can rule his owne house honestly, hauing children vnder obedience with all honestie.

  23. For if any cannot rule his owne house, how shall he care for the Church of God?

  24. Let the Deacons be the husbands of one wife, and such as can rule their children well, and their owne housholdes.

  25. If there bee any that prouideth not for his owne, and namely for them of his housholde, hee denieth the faith, and is worse then an infidell.
