  1. Gather the people: sanctifie the congregation, gather the elders: assemble the children, and those that sucke the breastes: let the bridegrome go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her bride chamber.

  2. Let the Priestes, the ministers of the Lord weepe betweene the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O Lord, and giue not thine heritage into reproche that the heathen should rule ouer them. Wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?

  7. For it seemed good to the holy Ghost, and to vs, to lay no more burden vpon you, then these necessary things,

  8. That is, that ye abstaine from things offered to idoles, and blood, and that that is strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keepe your selues, ye shall doe well. Fare ye well.

  9. For it hath bene declared vnto me, my brethren, of you by them that are of the house of Cloe, that there are contentions among you.

  10. Nowe this I say, that euery one of you saith, I am Pauls, and I am Apollos, and I am Cephas, and I am Christs.

  11. Is Christ deuided? was Paul crucified for you? either were ye baptized into the name of Paul?

  12. For yee are yet carnall: for whereas there is among you enuying, and strife, and diuisions, are ye not carnall, and walke as men?

  13. For when one sayeth, I am Pauls, and another, I am Apollos, are yee not carnall?

  14. For first of all, when ye come together in the Church, I heare that there are dissentions among you: and I beleeue it to be true in some part.

  15. For there must be heresies euen among you, that they which are approoued among you, might be knowen.

  16. For I feare least when I come, I shall not finde you such as I would: and that I shalbe found vnto you such as ye woulde not, and least there be strife, enuying, wrath, contentions, backebitings, whisperings, swellings and discord.

  17. I feare least when I come againe, my God abase me among you, and I shall bewaile many of them which haue sinned already, and haue not repented of the vncleannesse, and fornication, and wantonnesse which they haue committed.

  18. And hath made all things subiect vnder his feete, and hath giuen him ouer all things to be the head to the Church,

  19. Which is his body, euen the fulnesse of him that filleth all in all things.

  20. And are built vpon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, Iesus Christ himselfe being the chiefe corner stone,

  21. In whom all the building coupled together, groweth vnto an holy Temple in the Lord.

  22. In whom ye also are built together to be the habitation of God by the Spirit.

  23. For the husband is the wiues head, euen as Christ is the head of the Church, and the same is the sauiour of his body.

  24. Therfore as the Church is in subiection to Christ, euen so let the wiues be to their husbands in euery thing.

  25. Husbands, loue your wiues, euen as Christ loued the Church, and gaue himselfe for it,
