Bible Verses About Church (2)
Key Bible Verses
Gather the people; consecrate the congregation; assemble the leaders; gather the children, even infants sucking at the breast; let the bridegroom leave his room and the bride the bridal chamber.
Let the cohanim, who serve ADONAI, stand weeping between the vestibule and the altar. Let them say, "Spare your people, ADONAI! Don't expose your heritage to mockery, or make them a byward among the Goyim. Why should the peoples say, 'Where is their God?'"
"But you," he said to them, "who do you say I am?"
Shim`on Kefa answered, "You are the Mashiach, the Son of the living God."
"Shim`on Bar-Yochanan," Yeshua said to him, "how blessed you are! For no human being revealed this to you, no, it was my Father in heaven.
I also tell you this: you are Kefa," [which means `Rock,'] "and on this rock I will build my Community, and the gates of Sh'ol will not overcome it.
For it seemed good to the Ruach HaKodesh and to us not to lay any heavier burden on you than the following requirements:
to abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from fornication. If you keep yourselves from these, you will be doing the right thing. Shalom!
For some of Chloe’s people have made it known to me, my brothers, that there are quarrels among you.
I say this because one of you says, “I follow Sha’ul”; another says, “I follow Apollos”; another, “I follow Kefa”; while still another says, “I follow the Messiah!”
Has the Messiah been split in pieces? Was it Sha’ul who was put to death on a stake for you? Were you immersed into the name of Sha’ul?
For you are still worldly! Isn’t it obvious from all the jealousy and quarrelling among you that you are worldly and living by merely human standards?
For when one says, “I follow Sha’ul” and another, “I follow Apollos,” aren’t you being merely human?
For, in the first place, I hear that when you gather together as a congregation you divide up into cliques; and to a degree I believe it
(granted that there must be some divisions among you in order to show who are the ones in the right).
For I am afraid of coming and finding you not the way I want you to be, and also of not being found the way you want me to be. I am afraid of finding quarreling and jealousy, anger and rivalry, slander and gossip, arrogance and disorder.
I am afraid that when I come again, my God may humiliate me in your presence, and that I will be grieved over many of those who sinned in the past and have not repented of the impurity, fornication and debauchery that they have engaged in.
Also, he has put all things under his feet and made him head over everything for the Messianic Community,
which is his body, the full expression of him who fills all creation.
You have been built on the foundation of the emissaries and the prophets, with the cornerstone being Yeshua the Messiah himself.
In union with him the whole building is held together, and it is growing into a holy temple in union with the Lord.
Yes, in union with him, you yourselves are being built together into a spiritual dwelling-place for God!
because the husband is head of the wife, just as the Messiah, as head of the Messianic Community, is himself the one who keeps the body safe.
Just as the Messianic Community submits to the Messiah, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
As for husbands, love your wives, just as the Messiah loved the Messianic Community, indeed, gave himself up on its behalf,
