  1. And Judea shall be inhabited for ever, and Jerusalem to generation and generation.

  2. And I will cleanse their blood, which I had not cleansed: and the Lord will dwell in Sion.

  3. And I said: Whither goest thou? and he said to me: To measure Jerusalem, and to see how great is the breadth thereof, and how great the length thereof.

  9. Now all these are the beginnings of sorrows.

  10. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted and shall put you to death: and you shall be hated by all nations for my name's sake.

  11. And then shall many be scandalized and shall betray one another and shall hate one another.

  12. And many false prophets shall rise and shall seduce many.

  13. And because iniquity hath abounded, the charity of many shall grow cold.

  14. But he that shall persevere to the end, he shall be saved.

  15. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world, for a testimony to all nations: and then shall the consummation come.

  16. When therefore you shall see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place: he that readeth let him understand.

  17. If thou also hadst known, and that in this thy day, the things that are to thy peace: but now they are hidden from thy eyes.

  18. For the days shall come upon thee: and thy enemies shall cast a trench about thee and compass thee round and straiten thee on every side,

  19. And beat thee flat to the ground, and thy children who are in thee. And they shall not leave in thee a stone upon a stone: because thou hast not known the time of thy visitation.

  20. And they asked him, saying: Master, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign when they shall begin to come to pass?

  21. Who said: Take heed you be not seduced: for many will come in my name, saying: I am he and the time is at hand. Go ye not therefore after them.

  22. And when you shall hear of wars and seditions, be not terrified. These things must first come to pass: but the end is not yet presently.

  23. Then he said to them: Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

  24. And there shall be great earthquakes in divers places and pestilences and famines and terrors from heaven: and there shall be great signs.

  25. After these things, Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill him.
