A grasping disposition stirs up strife, but he who trusts in ADONAI will prosper.
Angry people stir up strife; hot-tempered people commit many crimes.
For as pressing milk produces butter and pressing the nose produces blood, so pressing out anger produces strife.
All those who were angry with you will be disgraced, put to shame; those who fought against you will be destroyed, brought to nothing.
You will seek them but not find them, those who contended with you; yes, those who made war with you will be brought to nothing, nothing at all.
He will not cry or shout; no one will hear his voice in the streets.
Your fasts lead to quarreling and fighting, to lashing out with violent blows. On a day like today, fasting like yours will not make your voice heard on high.
Pay attention to me, ADONAI! Listen to what my opponents are saying!
Why do you make me see wrongdoing, why do you permit oppression? Pillage and cruelty confront me, so that strife and discord prevail.
Therefore Torah is not followed; justice never gets rendered, because the wicked fence in the righteous. This is why justice comes out perverted.
If someone sues you, come to terms with him quickly, while you and he are on the way to court; or he may hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the officer of the court, and you may be thrown in jail!
But I tell you not to stand up against someone who does you wrong. On the contrary, if someone hits you on the right cheek, let him hit you on the left cheek too!
If someone wants to sue you for your shirt, let him have your coat as well!
And if a soldier forces you to carry his pack for one mile, carry it for two!
"Don't suppose that I have come to bring peace to the Land. It is not peace I have come to bring, but a sword!
For I have come to set
a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law, so that a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.

"Moreover, if your brother commits a sin against you, go and show him his fault -- but privately, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won back your brother.
If he doesn't listen, take one or two others with you so that every accusation can be supported by the testimony of two or three witnesses.l
