  7. for he was teaching them as having authority, and not as the scribes.

  8. and the men wondered, saying, `What kind--is this, that even the wind and the sea do obey him?'

  9. `But, that ye may know that the Son of Man hath power upon the earth to forgive sins--(then saith he to the paralytic) --having risen, take up thy couch, and go to thy house.'

  10. And having called to him his twelve disciples, he gave to them power over unclean spirits, so as to be casting them out, and to be healing every sickness, and every malady.

  11. And having come near, Jesus spake to them, saying, `Given to me was all authority in heaven and on earth;

  12. `And then they shall see the Son of Man coming in clouds with much power and glory,

  13. `And signs shall accompany those believing these things; in my name demons they shall cast out; with new tongues they shall speak;

  14. serpents they shall take up; and if any deadly thing they may drink, it shall not hurt them; on the ailing they shall lay hands, and they shall be well.'

  15. and they were astonished at his teaching, because his word was with authority.

  16. And it came to pass, on one of the days, that he was teaching, and there were sitting by Pharisees and teachers of the Law, who were come out of every village of Galilee, and Judea, and Jerusalem, and the power of the Lord was--to heal them.

  17. And the seventy turned back with joy, saying, `Sir, and the demons are being subjected to us in thy name;'

  18. all things through him did happen, and without him happened not even one thing that hath happened.

  19. in the world he was, and the world through him was made, and the world did not know him:

  20. Jesus answered and said to them, `Destroy this sanctuary, and in three days I will raise it up.'

  21. The Jews, therefore, said, `Forty and six years was this sanctuary building, and wilt thou in three days raise it up?'

  22. but he spake concerning the sanctuary of his body;

  23. the Father doth love the Son, and all things hath given into his hand;

  24. And Jesus answered them, `My Father till now doth work, and I work;'

  25. because of this, then, were the Jews seeking the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the sabbath, but he also called God his own Father, making himself equal to God.
