  1. and He may send Jesus Christ who before hath been preached to you,

  2. whom it behoveth heaven, indeed, to receive till times of a restitution of all things, of which God spake through the mouth of all His holy prophets from the age.

  13. and to Abraham were the promises spoken, and to his seed; He doth not say, `And to seeds,' as of many, but as of one, `And to thy seed,' which is Christ;

  14. and when the fulness of time did come, God sent forth His Son, come of a woman, come under law,

  15. wherefore, also, God did highly exalt him, and gave to him a name that is above every name,

  16. and every tongue may confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

  17. who being the brightness of the glory, and the impress of His subsistence, bearing up also the all things by the saying of his might--through himself having made a cleansing of our sins, sat down at the right hand of the greatness in the highest,

  18. for we have not a chief priest unable to sympathise with our infirmities, but one tempted in all things in like manner--apart from sin;

  19. so also the Christ did not glorify himself to become chief priest, but He who spake unto him: `My Son thou art, I to-day have begotten thee;'

  20. as also in another place He saith, `Thou art a priest--to the age, according to the order of Melchisedek;'

  21. By faith Abraham hath offered up Isaac, being tried, and the only begotten he did offer up who did receive the promises,

  22. of whom it was said--`In Isaac shall a seed be called to thee;'

  23. reckoning that even out of the dead God is able to raise up, whence also in a figure he did receive him .

  24. Wherefore, also, it is contained in the Writing: `Lo, I lay in Zion a chief corner-stone, choice, precious, and he who is believing on him may not be put to shame;'

  25. to you, then, who are believing is the preciousness; and to the unbelieving, a stone that the builders disapproved of, this one did become for the head of a corner,
