  1. Slanderous men have been in you to shed blood; and in you they have eaten on the mountains: in your midst they have committed lewdness.

  19. Why not (as we are slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say), “Let us do evil, that good may come?” Those who say so are justly condemned.

  20. Being defamed, we entreat. We are made as the filth of the world, the dirt wiped off by all, even until now.

  21. nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit the Kingdom of God.

  22. by glory and dishonor, by evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true;

  23. For I am afraid that by any means, when I come, I might find you not the way I want to, and that I might be found by you as you don’t desire; that by any means there would be strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, factions, slander, whisperings, proud thoughts, riots;

  24. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice.

  25. Their wives in the same way must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things.
