Besides, they also learn to be idle, going about from house to house. Not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not.
he is conceited, knowing nothing, but obsessed with arguments, disputes, and word battles, from which come envy, strife, insulting, evil suspicions,
and that older women likewise be reverent in behavior, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine, teachers of that which is good;
Remind them to be in subjection to rulers and to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work,
to speak evil of no one, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing all humility toward all men.
If anyone among you thinks himself to be religious while he doesn’t bridle his tongue, but deceives his heart, this man’s religion is worthless.
Don’t speak against one another, brothers. He who speaks against a brother and judges his brother, speaks against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge.
Only one is the lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge another?
Putting away therefore all wickedness, all deceit, hypocrisies, envies, and all evil speaking,
having good behavior among the nations, so in that of which they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they see, glorify God in the day of visitation.
For, “He who would love life, and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit.
having a good conscience; that, while you are spoken against as evildoers, they may be disappointed who curse your good way of life in Messiah.
They think it is strange that you don’t run with them into the same excess of riot, blaspheming:
but chiefly those who walk after the flesh in the lust of defilement, and despise authority. Daring, self-willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries;
Yet in the same way, these also in their dreaming defile the flesh, despise authority, and slander celestial beings.
I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation, the power, and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah has come; for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night.
