Therefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare to you.”

But all of the ungodly shall be as thorns to be thrust away, because they can’t be taken with the hand,

But the man who touches them must be armed with iron and the staff of a spear. They shall be utterly burned with fire in their place.”

I have not sat with deceitful men, neither will I go in with hypocrites.

I hate the assembly of evildoers, and will not sit with the wicked.

They didn’t destroy the peoples, as the LORD commanded them,

but mixed themselves with the nations, and learned their works.

Woe is me, that I live in Meshech, that I dwell among the tents of Kedar!

I am for peace, but when I speak, they are for war.

LORD, don’t I hate those who hate you? Am I not grieved with those who rise up against you?

I hate them with perfect hatred. They have become my enemies.

My son, if sinners entice you, don’t consent.

If they say, “Come with us, Let’s lay in wait for blood; let’s lurk secretly for the innocent without cause;

My son, don’t walk on the path with them. Keep your foot from their path,

Discretion will watch over you. Understanding will keep you,

to deliver you from the way of evil, from the men who speak perverse things;

Don’t enter into the path of the wicked. Don’t walk in the way of evil men.

Avoid it, and don’t pass by it. Turn from it, and pass on.

Don’t befriend a hot-tempered man, and don’t associate with one who harbors anger:

lest you learn his ways, and ensnare your soul.

For the LORD spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me not to walk in the way of this people, saying,

“Don’t say, ‘A conspiracy!’ concerning all about which this people say, ‘A conspiracy!’ neither fear their threats, nor be terrorized.
