  1. Walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers: Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.

  2. He said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers for men.”

  3. They immediately left their nets and followed him.

  4. Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, Jacob the son of Zebedee, and Yochanan his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them.

  5. They immediately left the boat and their father, and followed him.

  6. As Yeshua passed by from there, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax collection office. He said to him, “Follow me.” He got up and followed him.

  7. As he sat in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Yeshua and his disciples.

  8. Now the names of the twelve emissaries are these. The first, Simon, who is called Peter; Andrew, his brother; Jacob the son of Zebedee; Yochanan, his brother;

  9. Philip; Bartholomew; Thomas; Matthew the tax collector; Jacob the son of Halfai; Labbai, who was also called Taddai;

  10. Simon the Canaanite; and Judah Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

  11. He went up into the mountain, and called to himself those whom he wanted, and they went to him.

  12. He appointed twelve, that they might be with him, and that he might send them out to proclaim,

  13. and to have authority to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons:

  14. Simon, to whom he gave the name Peter;

  15. Jacob the son of Zebedee; Yochanan, the brother of Jacob, and he called them Benei-Regesh, which means, Sons of Thunder;

  16. Andrew; Philip; Bartholomew; Matthew; Thomas; Jacob, the son of Halfai; Taddai; Simon the Zealot;

  17. and Judah Iscariot, who also betrayed him. He came into a house.

  18. When it was day, he called his disciples, and from them he chose twelve, whom he also named emissaries:

  19. Simon, whom he also named Peter; Andrew, his brother; Jacob; Yochanan; Philip; Bartholomew;

  20. Matthew; Thomas; Jacob, the son of Halfai; Simon, who was called the Zealot;

  21. Judah the son of Jacob; and Judah Iscariot, who also became a traitor.
