Zion

The LORD will send out the rod of your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of your enemies.

When the LORD brought back those who returned to Zion, we were like those who dream.

May the LORD bless you out of Zion, and may you see the good of Jerusalem all the days of your life.

Let them be disappointed and turned backward, all those who hate Zion.

For the LORD has chosen Zion. He has desired it for his habitation.

like the dew of Hermon, that comes down on the hills of Zion: for there the LORD gives the blessing, even life forever more.

May the LORD bless you from Zion; even he who made heaven and earth.

Blessed be the LORD from Zion, Who dwells at Jerusalem. Praise the LORD!

By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down. Yes, we wept, when we remembered Zion.

For there, those who led us captive asked us for songs. Those who tormented us demanded songs of joy: “Sing us one of the songs of Zion!”

The LORD will reign forever; your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the LORD!

Praise the LORD, Jerusalem! Praise your God, Zion!

Let Israel rejoice in him who made them. Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

Go out, you daughters of Zion, and see king Solomon, with the crown with which his mother has crowned him, in the day of his weddings, in the day of the gladness of his heart.

The daughter of Zion is left like a shelter in a vineyard, like a hut in a field of melons, like a besieged city.

Zion shall be redeemed with justice, and her converts with righteousness.

Many peoples shall go and say, “Come, let’s go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For out of Zion the law shall go out, and the LORD’s word from Jerusalem.

Moreover the LORD said, “Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with outstretched necks and flirting eyes, walking to trip as they go, jingling ornaments on their feet;

therefore the Lord brings sores on the crown of the head of the women of Zion, and the LORD will make their scalps bald.”

It will happen, that he who is left in Zion, and he who remains in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even everyone who is written among the living in Jerusalem;

when the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from its midst, by the spirit of justice, and by the spirit of burning.

Therefore the Lord, the LORD of Hosts, says “My people who dwell in Zion, don’t be afraid of the Assyrian, though he strike you with the rod, and lift up his staff against you, as Egypt did.

This very day he will halt at Nob. He shakes his hand at the mountain of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.

Cry aloud and shout, you inhabitant of Zion; for the Holy One of Israel is great in your midst!”

What will they answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD has founded Zion, and in her the afflicted of his people will take refuge.
