Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.

Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever.

Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?

For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.

Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies' sake.

Розділив Ти був море Своєю поту́гою, побив го́лови змі́ям на во́дах,

Ти левіята́нові го́лову був поторо́щив, його Ти віддав був на їжу наро́дові пустині,

Ти був розділи́в джерело́ та поті́к, Ти ви́сушив рі́ки великі!

Твій день, а також Твоя ніч, приготовив Ти світло та сонце,

всі грани́ці землі Ти поставив, Ти літо та зи́му створи́в!

Пам'ятай же про це: во́рог знуща́ється з Господа, а наро́д нерозумний знева́жує Йме́ння Твоє!“

Не віддай звірині́ душі Своєї го́рлиці, живої Твоїх бідарі́в не забудь же наза́вжди!

Споглянь же на Свій заповіт, бо темно́ти землі повні ме́шкань насилля!

Нехай не відхо́дить пригно́блений посоро́мленим, бідний та вбогий нехай прославля́ють Іме́ння Твоє!

Встань же, о Боже, суди́ся за справу Свою, пам'ятай про щоде́нну нару́гу Свою від безумного!

And they sinned yet more against him by provoking the most High in the wilderness.

And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust.

Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?

Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people?

Therefore the LORD heard this, and was wroth: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel;

Він скаже — і буря зривається, і підно́сяться хвилі Його,

до неба вони підійма́ються, до безодні спада́ють, — у небезпеці душа їхня хвилюється!

¶ I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:

I said in my haste, All men are liars.
