  1. Likewise shall the ladies of Persia and Media say this day unto all the king's princes, which have heard of the deed of the queen. Thus shall there arise too much contempt and wrath.

  2. If it please the king, let there go a royal commandment from him, and let it be written among the laws of the Persians and the Medes, that it be not altered, That Vashti come no more before king Ahasuerus; and let the king give her royal estate unto another that is better than she.

  7. Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD.

  8. ¶ A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

  9. ¶ Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

  10. ¶ Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.

  11. ¶ A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.

  12. ¶ House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD.

  13. ¶ It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.

  14. ¶ It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.

  15. ¶ It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman and in a wide house.

  16. For three things the earth is disquieted, and for four which it cannot bear:

  17. For a servant when he reigneth; and a fool when he is filled with meat;

  18. For an odious woman when she is married; and an handmaid that is heir to her mistress.

  19. ¶ Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

  20. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

  21. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

  22. She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

  23. She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

  24. She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

  25. She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
