  1. Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope to come. For which hope's sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews.

  10. And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.

  11. And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.

  12. ¶ And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

  13. Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

  14. Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

  15. ¶ Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

  16. (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)

  17. Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;

  18. And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

  19. To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

  20. ¶ First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

  21. For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;

  22. Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.

  23. ¶ For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

  24. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

  25. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
