  1. When wisdome entreth into thine heart, and knowledge deliteth thy soule,

  2. Then shall counsell preserue thee, and vnderstanding shall keepe thee,

  3. And it shall deliuer thee from the strange woman, euen from the stranger, which flattereth with her wordes.

  4. Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the couenant of her God.

  5. Surely her house tendeth to death, and her paths vnto the dead.

  6. All they that goe vnto her, returne not againe, neither take they holde of the wayes of life.

  7. Therefore walke thou in the way of good men, and keepe the wayes of the righteous.

  8. For the iust shall dwell in the land, and the vpright men shall remaine in it.

  9. But the wicked shalbe cut off from ye earth, and the transgressours shalbe rooted out of it.

  10. Drinke the water of thy cisterne, and of the riuers out of the middes of thine owne well.

  14. Let her be as the louing hinde and pleasant roe: let her brests satisfie thee at all times, and delite in her loue continually.

  15. For why shouldest thou delite, my sonne, in a strange woman, or embrace the bosome of a stranger?

  16. For the waies of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and he pondereth all his pathes.

  17. To keepe thee from the wicked woman, and from ye flatterie of ye tongue of a strange woman.

  18. Desire not her beautie in thine heart, neither let her take thee with her eye lids.

  19. My sonne, keepe my wordes, and hide my commandements with thee.

  20. Keepe my commandements, and thou shalt liue, and mine instruction as the apple of thine eyes.

  23. That they may keepe thee from the strange woman, euen from the stranger that is smoothe in her wordes.

  24. Meates are ordeined for the bellie, and the belly for the meates: but God shall destroy both it, and them. Nowe the bodie is not for fornication, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the bodie.
