I will deliver them out of the hand of death. I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy death; O hell, I will be thy bite: comfort is hidden from my eyes.
For the son dishonoureth the father, and the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law: and a man's enemies are they of his own household.
Rejoice not, thou my enemy, over me, because I am fallen: I shall arise, when I sit in darkness, the Lord is my light.
And they shall be as mighty men, treading under foot the mire of the ways in battle: and they shall fight, because the Lord is with them, and the riders of horses shall be confounded.
For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
And a man's enemies shall be they of his own household.
These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you shall have distress. But have confidence. I have overcome the world.
But I see another law in my members, fighting against the law of my mind and captivating me in the law of sin that is in my members.
Unhappy man that I am, who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
The grace of God, by Jesus Christ our Lord. Therefore, I myself, with the mind serve the law of God: but with the flesh, the law of sin.
But in all these things we overcome, because of him that hath loved us.
The night is passed And the day is at hand. Let us, therefore cast off the works of darkness and put on the armour of light.
And the God of peace crush Satan under your feet speedily. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
And every one that striveth for the mastery refraineth himself from all things. And they indeed that they may receive a corruptible crown: but we an incorruptible one.
I therefore so run, not as at an uncertainty: I so fight, not as one beating the air.
But I chastise my body and bring it into subjection: lest perhaps, when I have preached to others, I myself should become a castaway.
And the enemy, death, shall be destroyed last: For he hath put all things under his feet. And whereas he saith:
All things are put under him; undoubtedly, he is excepted, who put all things under him.
And when this mortal hath put on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: Death is swallowed up in victory.
O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting?
But thanks be to God, who hath given us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Watch ye: stand fast in the faith: do manfully and be strengthened.
That we be not overreached by Satan. For we are not ignorant of his devices.
Now thanks be to God, who always maketh us to triumph in Christ Jesus and manifesteth the odour of his knowledge by us in every place.
