Bible Verses About Ministers
Key Bible Verses
Of old, think you that we excuse ourselves to you? We speak before God in Christ: but all things, my dearly beloved, for your edification.
Therefore I write these things, being absent, that, being present, I may not deal more severely, according to the power which the Lord hath given me unto edification and not unto destruction.
For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? If I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
You despised not, nor rejected: but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.
And let him that is instructed in the word communicate to him that instructeth him, in all good things.
For this cause I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
For the perfecting of the saints, for the word of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
And for me, that speech may be given me, that I may open my mouth with confidence, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
But that you also may know the things that concern me and what I am doing, Tychicus, my dearest brother and faithful minister in the Lord, will make known to you all things:
I give thanks to my God in every remembrance of you:
Always in all my prayers making supplication for you all with joy:
As it is meet for me to think this for you all, for that I have you in my heart; and that, in my bands and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers of my joy.
Some indeed, even out of envy and contention: but some also for good will preach Christ.
Some out of charity, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.
And some out of contention preach Christ not sincerely: supposing that they raise affliction to my bands.
According to my expectation and hope; that in nothing I shall be confounded: but with all confidence, as always, so now also, shall Christ be magnified in my body, whether it be by life or by death.
For to me, to live is Christ: and to die is gain.
Now know ye the proof of him: that as a son with the father, so hath he served with me in the gospel.
And I trust in the Lord that I myself also shall come to you shortly.
Receive him therefore with all joy in the Lord: and treat with honour such as he is.
Be ye followers of me, brethren: and observe them who walk so as you have our model.
And I entreat thee also, my sincere companion, help those women who have laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement and the rest of my fellow labourers, whose names are in the book of life.
Therefore we also, from the day that we heard it, cease not to pray for you and to beg that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding:
And say to Archippus: Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.
For our exhortation was not of error, nor of uncleanness, nor in deceit.
