And he charged them, saying: I am now going to be gathered to my people: bury me with my fathers in the double cave, which is in the field of Ephron the Hethite,
Over against Mambre, in the land of Chanaan, which Abraham bought together with the field, of Ephron the Hethite, for a possession to bury in.
There they buried him, and Sara his wife: there was Isaac buried with Rebecca, his wife: there also Lia doth lie buried.
Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: When you shall have entered into the land which I will give you, observe the rest of the sabbath of the Lord.
Six years thou shalt sow thy field and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and shalt gather the fruits thereof.
But in the seventh year there shall be a sabbath to the land, of the resting of the Lord. Thou shalt not sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.
What the ground shall bring forth of itself, thou shalt not reap: neither shalt thou gather the grapes or the firstfruits as a vintage. For it is a year of rest to the land.
And the people marched from Haseroth, and pitched their tents in the desert of Pharan.
And there the Lord spoke to Moses, saying.
Send men to view the land of Chanaan, which I will give to the children of Israel, one of every tribe, of the rulers.
Moses did what the Lord had commanded, sending from the desert of Pharan, principal men, whose names are these:
Of the tribe of Ruben, Sammua the son of Zechur.
Of the tribe of Simeon, Saphat the son of Huri.
Of the tribe of Juda, Caleb the son of Jephone.
Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph.
Of the tribe of Ephraim, Osee the son of Nun.
Of the tribe of Benjamin, Phalti the son of Raphu.
Of the tribe of Zabulon, Geddiel the son of Sodi.
Of the tribe of Joseph, of the sceptre of Manasses, Gaddi the son of Susi.
Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli.
Of the tribe of Aser, Sthur the son of Michael.
Of the tribe of Nephtali, Nahabi the son of Vapsi.
Of the tribe of Gad, Guel the son of Machi.
These are the names of the men, whom Moses sent to view the land: and he called Osee the son of Nun, Josue.
And Moses sent them to view the land of Chanaan, and said to them: Go you up by the south side. And when you shall come to the mountains,
