Which of the two did the father's will? They say to him: The first. Jesus saith to them: Amen I say to you that the publicans and the harlots shall go into the kingdom of God before you.
Jesus saith to them: Have you never read in the Scriptures: The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner? By the Lord this has been done; and it is wonderful in our eyes.
Therefore I say to you that the kingdom of God shall be taken from you and shall be given to a nation yielding the fruits thereof.
And they sent to him their disciples with the Herodians, saying: Master, we know that thou art a true speaker and teachest the way of God in truth. Neither carest thou for any man: for thou dost not regard the person of men.
They say to him: Caesar's. Then he saith to them: Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and to God, the things that are God's.
And Jesus answering, said to them: You err, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.
For in the resurrection they shall neither marry nor be married, but shall be as the angels of God in heaven.
And concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read that which was spoken by God, saying to you:
I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob? He is not the God of the dead but of the living.
Jesus said to him: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart and with thy whole soul and with thy whole mind.
He saith to them: How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying:
The Lord said to my Lord: Sit on my right hand, until I make thy enemies thy footstool?
If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
And call none your father upon earth; for one is your father, who is in heaven.
And he that sweareth by heaven sweareth by the throne of God and by him that sitteth thereon.
But of that day and hour no one knoweth: no, not the angels of heaven, but the Father alone.
Then shall the king say to them that shall be on his right hand: Come, ye blessed of my Father, possess you the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
And I say to you, I will not drink from henceforth of this fruit of the vine until that day when I shall drink it with you new in the kingdom of my Father.
Then Jesus saith to them: All you shall be scandalized in me this night. For it is written: I will strike the shepherd: and the sheep of the flock shall be dispersed.
And going a little further, he fell upon his face, praying and saying: My Father, if it be possible, let this chalice pass from me. Nevertheless, not as I will but as thou wilt.
Again the second time, he went and prayed, saying: My Father, if this chalice may not pass away, but I must drink it, thy will be done.
Thinkest thou that I cannot ask my Father, and he will give me presently more than twelve legions of angels?
And they said: This man said, I am able to destroy the temple of God and after three days to rebuild it.
But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest said to him: I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us if thou be the Christ the Son of God.
And saying: Vah, thou that destroyest the temple of God and in three days dost rebuild it: save thy own self. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.
