  1. If I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, Because I saw my help in the gate:

  13. If like Adam I have covered my transgressions, By hiding mine iniquity in my bosom,

  14. Because I feared the great multitude, And the contempt of families terrified me, So that I kept silence, and went not out of the door—

  15. Oh that I had one to hear me! (Lo, here is my signature, let the Almighty answer me) Andthat I hadthe indictment which mine adversary hath written!

  16. Surely I would carry it upon my shoulder; I would bind it unto me as a crown:

  17. I would declare unto him the number of my steps; As a prince would I go near unto him.

  18. If my land crieth out against me, And the furrows thereof weep together;

  19. If I have eaten the fruits thereof without money, Or have caused the owners thereof to lose their life:

  20. Let thistles grow instead of wheat, And cockle instead of barley. The words of Job are ended.

  21. O Jehovah my God, if I have done this; If there be iniquity in my hands;

  22. If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me (Yea, I have delivered him that without cause was mine adversary);

  23. Let the enemy pursue my soul, and overtake it; Yea, let him tread my life down to the earth, And lay my glory in the dust. [Selah

  24. Jehovah, who shall sojourn in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

  25. He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, And speaketh truth in his heart;
