  1. A worthless person, a man of iniquity, Is he that walketh with a perverse mouth;

  2. That winketh with his eyes, that speaketh with his feet, That maketh signs with his fingers;

  3. There are six things which Jehovah hateth; Yea, seven which are an abomination unto him:

  4. Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood;

  5. A heart that deviseth wicked purposes, Feet that are swift in running to mischief,

  6. A false witness that uttereth lies, And he that soweth discord among brethren.

  7. He that walketh uprightly walketh surely; But he that perverteth his ways shall be known.

  8. He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow; But a prating fool shall fall.

  9. The lip of truth shall be established for ever; But a lying tongue is but for a moment.

  10. Deceit is in the heart of them that devise evil; But to the counsellors of peace is joy.

  11. As a madman who casteth firebrands, Arrows, and death,

  12. So is the man that deceiveth his neighbor, And saith, Am not I in sport?

  13. He that hateth dissembleth with his lips; But he layeth up deceit within him:

  14. When he speaketh fair, believe him not; For there are seven abominations in his heart:

  15. Though hishatred cover itself with guile, His wickedness shall be openly showed before the assembly.

  16. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue muttereth wickedness.

  17. None sueth in righteousness, and none pleadeth in truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

  18. For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us; for our transgressions are with us, and as for our iniquities, we know them:

  19. transgressing and denying Jehovah, and turning away from following our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.

  20. And they will deceive every one his neighbor, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies; they weary themselves to commit iniquity.

  21. Thy habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith Jehovah.

  22. Hear the word of Jehovah, ye children of Israel; for Jehovah hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor goodness, nor knowledge of God in the land.

  23. There is nought but swearing and breaking faith, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery; they break out, and blood toucheth blood.

  24. Then shall they also answer, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

  25. Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not unto one of these least, ye did it not unto me.
