  1. If any one sin, and commit a trespass against Jehovah, and deal falsely with his neighbor in a matter of deposit, or of bargain, or of robbery, or have oppressed his neighbor,

  2. or have found that which was lost, and deal falsely therein, and swear to a lie; in any of all these things that a man doeth, sinning therein;

  3. then it shall be, if he hath sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took by robbery, or the thing which he hath gotten by oppression, or the deposit which was committed to him, or the lost thing which he found,

  4. or any thing about which he hath sworn falsely; he shall even restore it in full, and shall add the fifth part more thereto: unto him to whom it appertaineth shall he give it, in the day of his being found guilty.

  5. And he shall bring his trespass-offering unto Jehovah, a ram without blemish out of the flock, according to thy estimation, for a trespass-offering, unto the priest:

  6. and the priest shall make atonement for him before Jehovah; and he shall be forgiven concerning whatsoever he doeth so as to be guilty thereby.

  7. Ye shall not steal; neither shall ye deal falsely, nor lie one to another.

  8. And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, and profane the name of thy God: I am Jehovah.

  9. If I have walked with falsehood, And my foot hath hasted to deceit

  10. (Let me be weighed in an even balance, That God may know mine integrity);

  11. They speak falsehood every one with his neighbor: With flattering lip, and with a double heart, do they speak.

  12. Jehovah will cut off all flattering lips, The tongue that speaketh great things;

  13. Thou givest thy mouth to evil, And thy tongue frameth deceit.

  14. Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; Thou slanderest thine own mother’s son.

  15. Thy tongue deviseth very wickedness, Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

  16. Thou lovest evil more than good, And lying rather than to speak righteousness. [Selah

  17. Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.

  18. God will likewise destroy thee for ever; He will take thee up, and pluck thee out of thy tent, And root thee out of the land of the living. [Selah

  20. What shall be given unto thee, and what shall be done more unto thee, Thou deceitful tongue?

  22. To deliver thee from the way of evil, From the men that speak perverse things;

  23. Who forsake the paths of uprightness, To walk in the ways of darkness;

  24. Who rejoice to do evil, And delight in the perverseness of evil;

  25. Who are crooked in their ways, And wayward in their paths:
