  1. If any sinne and commit a trespasse against the Lord, and denie vnto his neighbour that, which was take him to keepe, or that which was put to him of trust, or doth by robberie, or by violence oppresse his neighbour,

  2. Or hath found that which was lost, and denieth it, and sweareth falsely, for any of these things that a man doeth, wherein he sinneth:

  3. When, I say, he thus sinneth and trespasseth, he shall then restore the robbery that he robbed, or the thing taken by violence which hee tooke by force, or the thing which was deliuered him to keepe, or the lost thing which he founde,

  4. Or for whatsoeuer he hath sworne falsely, he shall both restore it in the whole summe, and shall adde the fift parte more thereto, and giue it vnto him to whome perteyneth, the same day that he offreth for trespasse.

  5. Also he shall bring for his trespasse vnto the Lord, a ramme without blemish out of the flocke in thy estimation worth two shekels for a trespasse offring vnto the Priest.

  6. And the Priest shall make an atonement for him before the Lord, and it shall be forgiuen him, whatsoeuer thing he hath done, and trespassed therein.

  7. Ye shall not steale, neither deale falsely, neither lie one to another.

  8. Also yee shall not sweare by my name falsely, neither shalt thou defile the name of thy God: I am the Lord.

  9. If I haue walked in vanitie, or if my foote hath made haste to deceite,

  10. Let God weigh me in the iust balance, and he shall know mine vprightnes.

  11. They speake deceitfully euery one with his neighbour, flattering with their lips, and speake with a double heart.

  12. The Lord cut off all flattering lippes, and the tongue that speaketh proude things:

  13. Thou giuest thy mouth to euill, and with thy tongue thou forgest deceit.

  14. Thou sittest, and speakest against thy brother, and slanderest thy mothers sonne.

  15. Thy tongue imagineth mischiefe, and is like a sharpe rasor, that cutteth deceitfully.

  16. Thou doest loue euill more then good, and lies more then to speake the trueth. Selah.

  17. Thou louest all wordes that may destroye, O deceitfull tongue!

  18. So shall God destroy thee for euer: he shall take thee and plucke thee out of thy tabernacle, and roote thee out of ye land of the liuing. Selah.

  19. Deliuer my soule, O Lord, from lying lippes, and from a deceitfull tongue.

  20. What doeth thy deceitfull tongue bring vnto thee? or what doeth it auaile thee?

  21. It is as the sharpe arrowes of a mightie man, and as the coales of iuniper.

  22. And deliuer thee from the euill way, and from the man that speaketh froward things,

  23. And from them that leaue the wayes of righteousnes to walke in the wayes of darkenes:

  24. Which reioyce in doing euill, and delite in the frowardnesse of the wicked,

  25. Whose wayes are crooked and they are lewde in their paths.
