  1. And Abimelech took sheep and oxen, and men-servants and women-servants, and gave them unto Abraham, and restored him Sarah his wife.

  8. And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should give children suck? for I have borne him a son in his old age.

  9. And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne unto Abraham, mocking.

  10. And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy handmaid; in all that Sarah saith unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.

  11. And the life of Sarah was a hundred and seven and twenty years: these were the years of the life of Sarah.

  12. And Sarah died in Kiriath-arba (the same is Hebron), in the land of Canaan: and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her.

  13. And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre (the same is Hebron), in the land of Canaan.

  14. And Sarah my master’s wife bare a son to my master when she was old: and unto him hath he given all that he hath.

  15. And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah’s tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her. And Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.

  16. the field which Abraham purchased of the children of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.

  17. Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s handmaid, bare unto Abraham:

  18. There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife; there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife; and there I buried Leah—

  19. Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you; for when he was but one I called him, and I blessed him, and made him many.

  20. And without being weakened in faith he considered his own body now as good as dead (he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb;

  21. For this is a word of promise, According to this season will I come, and Sarah shall have a son.

  22. By faith even Sarah herself received power to conceive seed when she was past age, since she counted him faithful who had promised:

  23. as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose children ye now are, if ye do well, and are not put in fear by any terror.
