  1. Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand on the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers;

  2. but his delight is in the LORD’s law. On his Torah he meditates day and night.

  3. He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that produces its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper.

  4. The wicked are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

  5. Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

  6. For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked shall perish.

  7. Give ear to my words, LORD. Consider my meditation.

  8. Listen to the voice of my cry, my King and my God; for to you do I pray.

  9. LORD, in the morning you shall hear my voice. In the morning I will lay my requests before you, and will watch expectantly.

  10. For you are not a God who has pleasure in wickedness. Evil can’t live with you.

  11. The arrogant shall not stand in your sight. You hate all workers of iniquity.

  12. You will destroy those who speak lies. The LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.

  13. But as for me, in the abundance of your loving kindness I will come into your house. I will bow toward your holy temple in reverence of you.

  14. Lead me, LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies. Make your way straight before my face.

  15. For there is no faithfulness in their mouth. Their heart is destruction. Their throat is an open tomb. They flatter with their tongue.

  16. Hold them guilty, God. Let them fall by their own counsels; Thrust them out in the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against you.

  17. But let all those who take refuge in you rejoice, Let them always shout for joy, because you defend them. Let them also who love your name be joyful in you.

  18. For you will bless the righteous. LORD, you will surround him with favor as with a shield.

  19. In the LORD, I take refuge. How can you say to my soul, “Flee as a bird to your mountain!”

  20. For, behold, the wicked bend their bows. They set their arrows on the strings, that they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.

  21. If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?

  22. The LORD is in his holy temple. The LORD is on his throne in heaven. His eyes observe. His eyes examine the children of men.

  23. The LORD examines the righteous, but the wicked and him who loves violence his soul hates.

  24. On the wicked he will rain blazing coals; fire, sulfur, and scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.

  25. For the LORD is righteous. He loves righteousness. The upright shall see his face.
