  1. Since many have undertaken to set in order a narrative concerning those matters which have been fulfilled among us,

  2. even as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and servants of the word delivered them to us,

  3. it seemed good to me also, having traced the course of all things accurately from the first, to write to you in order, most excellent Theophilus;

  4. that you might know the certainty concerning the things in which you were instructed.

  5. They wrote these things by their hand: “The emissaries, the elders, and the brothers, to the brothers who are of the Gentiles in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia: greetings.

  6. Because we have heard that some who went out from us have troubled you with words, unsettling your souls, saying, ‘You must be circumcised and keep the Torah,’ to whom we gave no commandment;

  7. it seemed good to us, having come to one accord, to choose out men and send them to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,

  8. men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah.

  9. We have sent therefore Judah and Silas, who themselves will also tell you the same things by word of mouth.

  10. For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay no greater burden on you than these necessary things:

  11. that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality, from which if you keep yourselves, it will be well with you. Farewell.”

  12. The elder, to the chosen lady and her children, whom I love in truth; and not I only, but also all those who know the truth;

  13. for the truth’s sake, which remains in us, and it will be with us forever:

  14. Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us, from God the Father, and from the Lord Yeshua the Messiah, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

  15. I rejoice greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, even as we have been commanded by the Father.

  16. Now I beg you, dear lady, not as though I wrote to you a new commandment, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.

  17. This is love, that we should walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, even as you heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.

  18. For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who don’t confess that Yeshua the Messiah came in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the Anti-messiah.

  19. Watch yourselves, that we don’t lose the things which we have accomplished, but that we receive a full reward.

  20. Whoever transgresses and doesn’t remain in the teaching of Messiah, doesn’t have God. He who remains in the teaching, the same has both the Father and the Son.

  21. If anyone comes to you, and doesn’t bring this teaching, don’t receive him into your house, and don’t welcome him,

  22. for he who welcomes him participates in his evil works.

  23. Having many things to write to you, I don’t want to do so with paper and ink, but I hope to come to you, and to speak face to face, that our joy may be made full.

  24. The children of your chosen sister greet you. Amen.
