  1. Then spoke Jeremiah to all the princes and to all the people, saying, the LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that you have heard.

  2. There was also a man who prophesied in the LORD’s name, Uriah the son of Shemaiah of Kiriath Jearim; and he prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah:

  3. But the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.

  4. In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, came this word to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

  5. Then the prophet Jeremiah said to the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests, and in the presence of all the people who stood in the LORD’s house,

  6. even the prophet Jeremiah said, Amen: the LORD do so; the LORD perform your words which you have prophesied, to bring again the vessels of the LORD’s house, and all them of the captivity, from Babylon to this place.

  7. Then Hananiah the prophet took the bar from off the prophet Jeremiah’s neck, and broke it.

  8. Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus says the LORD: Even so will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon within two full years from off the neck of all the nations. The prophet Jeremiah went his way.

  9. Then the LORD’s word came to Jeremiah, after that Hananiah the prophet had broken the bar from off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,

  10. Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah: the LORD has not sent you; but you make this people to trust in a lie.

  11. Now these are the words of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem to the residue of the elders of the captivity, and to the priests, to the prophets, and to all the people, whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon,

  12. Now therefore, why have you not rebuked Jeremiah of Anathoth, who makes himself a prophet to you,

  13. Zephaniah the priest read this letter in the ears of Jeremiah the prophet.

  14. Then the LORD’s word came to Jeremiah, saying,

  15. The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

  16. The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar.

  17. Now at that time the king of Babylon’s army was besieging Jerusalem; and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the guard, which was in the king of Judah’s house.

  18. Jeremiah said, the LORD’s word came to me, saying,

  19. Then the LORD’s word came to Jeremiah, saying,

  20. Moreover the LORD’s word came to Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the guard, saying,

  21. the LORD’s word came to Jeremiah, saying,

  22. the LORD’s word came to Jeremiah, saying,

  23. The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his army, and all the kingdoms of the earth that were under his dominion, and all the peoples, were fighting against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of it, saying:

  24. Then Jeremiah the prophet spoke all these words to Zedekiah king of Judah in Jerusalem,

  25. The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, after that the king Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people who were at Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty to them;
