  1. ¶ Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.

  2. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

  3. And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?

  14. And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.

  15. And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.

  16. And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.

  17. And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.

  18. So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.

  19. And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.

  20. And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

  21. For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.

  22. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

  23. I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

  24. ¶ And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,

  25. Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
