  1. ¶ And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

  2. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

  3. Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;

  4. And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.

  10. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

  11. Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.

  12. And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

  13. But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

  14. And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.

  15. And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.

  16. And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him;

  17. These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.

  18. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

  19. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

  20. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

  21. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

  22. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

  23. For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

  24. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

  25. As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
