  1. But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.

  11. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

  12. But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

  13. And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

  14. ¶ Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

  15. But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

  16. And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.

  17. And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

  18. Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

  19. But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.

  20. ¶ Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.

  21. And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.

  22. For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

  23. And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

  24. ¶ And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.

  25. This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.
