  1. And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.

  2. Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.

  8. ¶ And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

  9. And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods;

  12. And David built there an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was intreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel.

  14. Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name.

  15. And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:

  16. But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa's heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.

  17. And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, what the LORD saith unto me, that will I speak.
