  1. And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath the beleeuer with the infidell?

  2. And what agreement hath the Temple of God with idols? for ye are the Temple of the liuing God: as God hath said, I will dwell among them, and walke there: and I will be their God, and they shalbe my people.

  3. And therefore God shall send them strong delusion, that they should beleeue lies,

  4. That all they might be damned which beleeued not the trueth, but had pleasure in vnrighteousnes.

  5. And that we may be deliuered from vnreasonable and euill men: for all men haue not fayth.

  6. When before I was a blasphemer, and a persecuter, and an oppresser: but I was receiued to mercie: for I did it ignorantly through vnbeliefe.

  7. If we beleeue not, yet abideth he faithfull: he cannot denie himselfe.

  8. Vnto the pure are all things pure, but vnto them that are defiled, and vnbeleeuing, is nothing pure, but euen their mindes and consciences are defiled.

  9. Take heede, brethren, least at any time there be in any of you an euill heart, and vnfaithfull, to depart away from the liuing God.

  10. For some when they heard, prouoked him to anger: howbeit, not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

  11. But with whome was he displeased fourtie yeeres? Was hee not displeased with them that sinned, whose carkeises fell in the wildernes?

  12. And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but vnto them that obeyed not?

  13. So we see that they could not enter in, because of vnbeliefe.

  14. Let vs feare therefore, least at any time by forsaking the promise of entring into his rest, any of you should seeme to be depriued.

  15. For vnto vs was the Gospel preached as also vnto them: but the worde that they heard, profited not them, because it was not mixed with faith in those that heard it.

  16. For we which haue beleeued, doe enter into rest, as he said to the other, As I haue sworne in my wrath, If they shall enter into my rest: although the workes were finished from the foundation of the world.

  17. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter thereinto, and they to whom it was first preached, entred not therein for vnbeliefes sake:

  18. Let vs studie therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same ensample of disobedience.

  19. But without faith it is vnpossible to please him: for he that commeth to God, must beleeue that God is, and that he is a rewarder of them that seeke him.

  20. By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them which obeyed not, when she had receiued the spies peaceably.

  21. See that ye despise not him that speaketh: for if they escaped not which refused him, that spake on earth: much more shall we not escape, if we turne away from him, that speaketh from heauen.

  22. But let him aske in faith, and wauer not: for hee that wauereth, is like a waue of the sea, tost of the winde, and caried away.

  23. Neither let that man thinke that hee shall receiue any thing of the Lord.

  24. Vnto you therefore which beleeue, it is precious: but vnto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,

  25. And a stone to stumble at, and a rocke of offence, euen to them which stumble at the woorde, being disobedient, vnto the which thing they were euen ordeined.
