  1. and what fellowship to light with darkness? and what concord to Christ with Belial? or what part to a believer with an unbeliever?

  11. but with whom was He grieved forty years? was it not with those who did sin, whose carcasses fell in the wilderness?

  12. and to whom did He swear that they shall not enter into His rest, except to those who did not believe? --

  13. and we see that they were not able to enter in because of unbelief.

  14. We may fear, then, lest a promise being left of entering into His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short,

  15. for we also are having good news proclaimed, even as they, but the word heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard,

  16. for we do enter into the rest--we who did believe, as He said, `So I sware in My anger, If they shall enter into My rest--;' and yet the works were done from the foundation of the world,

  17. since then, it remaineth for certain to enter into it, and those who did first hear good news entered not in because of unbelief--

  18. May we be diligent, then, to enter into that rest, that no one in the same example of the unbelief may fall,

  19. and apart from faith it is impossible to please well, for it behoveth him who is coming to God to believe that He is, and to those seeking Him He becometh a rewarder.

  20. by faith Rahab the harlot did not perish with those who disbelieved, having received the spies with peace.

  21. See, may ye not refuse him who is speaking, for if those did not escape who refused him who upon earth was divinely speaking--much less we who do turn away from him who speaketh from heaven,

  22. and let him ask in faith, nothing doubting, for he who is doubting hath been like a wave of the sea, driven by wind and tossed,

  23. for let not that man suppose that he shall receive anything from the Lord--

  24. to you, then, who are believing is the preciousness; and to the unbelieving, a stone that the builders disapproved of, this one did become for the head of a corner,

  25. and a stone of stumbling and a rock of offence--who are stumbling at the word, being unbelieving, --to which also they were set;
