  1. They vnderstoode not that hee spake to them of the Father.

  2. Then said Iesus vnto them, When ye haue lift vp the Sonne of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I doe nothing of my selfe, but as my Father hath taught me, so I speake these things.

  3. For he that sent me, is with me: the Father hath not left me alone, because I do alwayes those things that please him.

  4. As hee spake these thinges, many beleeued in him.

  5. And because I tell you the trueth, yee beleeue me not.

  6. Which of you can rebuke me of sinne? and if I say the trueth, why do ye not beleeue me?

  7. He that is of God, heareth Gods wordes: yee therefore heare them not, because ye are not of God.

  8. Then said some of the Pharises, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the Sabbath day. Others sayd, Howe can a man that is a sinner, doe such miracles? and there was a dissension among them.

  9. Then spake they vnto the blinde againe, What sayest thou of him, because he hath opened thine eyes? And he sayd, He is a Prophet.

  10. I am that doore: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saued, and shall go in, and go out, and finde pasture.

  11. The theefe commeth not, but for to steale, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might haue life, and haue it in abundance.

  12. I am that good shepheard: that good shepheard giueth his life for his sheepe.

  13. Therefore doeth my Father loue me, because I lay downe my life, that I might take it againe.

  14. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it downe of my selfe: I haue power to lay it downe, and haue power to take it againe: this commandement haue I receiued of my Father.

  15. And many of them sayd, He hath a deuill, and is mad: why heare ye him?

  16. Other sayd, These are not the wordes of him that hath a deuill: can the deuill open the eyes of the blinde?

  17. But some of them went their way to the Pharises, and told them what things Iesus had done.

  18. Then gathered the hie Priests, and the Pharises a councill, and said, What shall we doe? For this man doeth many miracles.

  19. If we let him thus alone, all men will beleeue in him, and the Romanes will come and take away both our place, and the nation.

  20. He that loueth his life, shall lose it, and he that hateth his life in this world, shall keepe it vnto life eternall.

  21. If any man serue me, let him follow me: for where I am, there shall also my seruant be: and if any man serue me, him will my Father honour.

  22. And I, if I were lift vp from the earth, will drawe all men vnto me.

  23. Nowe this sayd he, signifying what death he should die.

  24. The people answered him, We haue heard out of the Law, that that Christ bideth for euer: and howe sayest thou, that that Sonne of man must be lift vp? Who is that Sonne of man?

  25. I am come a light into the world, that whosoeuer beleeueth in me, should not abide in darkenes.
